CHL: Dudás and Galló both win

Both Hungarian players that hit the ice on Friday in the Champions Hockey League came up victorious as TPS and Linköping came out on top.

Defenseman Jesse Dudás returned from injury and was inserted back in the lineup on the second line in their game against Czech team Liberec. TPS took a 2-0 lead after the first period, with their second goal coming off of a penalty shot. Liberec cut it to a one goal but TPS would go back up by two goals when Dudás skated onto a pass and scored from the right faceoff dot. The Finnish club would hold on to a 3-1 win and qualify to the knockout stage of the CHL.

Linköping played Finnish club JYP, with a win Linköping would secure a spot in the next round of the CHL. Linköping had five forwards out of the lineup and Vilmos Galló found himself on the second line. The young forward had the first scoring chance for Linköping, later in the period Brock Little scored twice to go up 2-0 but JYP made it a one goal game before the period was out. JYP scored once in the second period to make it 2-2. Linköping scored twice in the third period to go back up by one goal. JYP scored in the closing seconds but it was too for the Finnish team.

“We started the game well you could tell that we really wanted to win. We were in a bit of a rut in the second period but we managed to get out of it for the third period.” said Galló about the game. “I think I played very well, only the goal was missing.”
