The Hungarian junior national team took on the host team Farjestad in the closing game of the U20 Super Challenge in hopes of picking up their first win of the tournament.
Head coach Rich Chernomaz stuck with Gergely Bors as the starting goalie but this time Péter Nagy was marked as the backup goalie. The home team struck first, with a nice score from the slot. The game stayed 1-0 in the favor of Farjestad as Bors stopped all other shots.
In the second period Farjestad started to bombard the Hungarian net as they went up 2-0, which they followed up with two power play goals later in the period.
For the final twenty minutes Coach Chernomaz decided to go with Péter Nagy in ne in place of Bors. The third period was similar to the second however Hungary managed to score a late goal. Farjestadt went up 6-0 with their third power play goal of the game. Minutes later Dániel Vizi scored to prevent Farjestad from shutting them out. Renátó Tóth and Dávid Molnár were credited with the assists. In the last minute of play the Swedish club tacked on a seventh goal.
In the end Hungary lost all five of their games in a very strong field, they competed hard. This tournament is a great preparation for the coaching staff to see who will make the final roster for the U20 World Championships.

Rich Chernomaz: These were A-Pool players, they were bigger stronger and faster than us, it was no comparison. There passing and skating was different, they were more disciplined, our guys tried to hang on the best they could. We were making tactical mistakes because our guys were not paying attention. But this team was way better than us. We had some tough second periods throughout the five games. Overall more most of our team this was the first time they played against teams like this. At their clubs they do not face teams like this. It was a big eye opener and we kept an eye on how the guys reacted to losing. A lot of guys need to learn not to let off the gas at all because if you do the game can change quickly. We need to play within our system and play to a T. We need to learn how to play without the puck.
